The Ramayana
Boutique Hotel and Spa provides 26 rooms,

buildings’ rich heritage. The hotel also

The Ramayana
was renovated from a large traditional Lao
house, this grand old wooden house which is
officially of ‘historical importance’ and
protected by UNESCO was built in the 19th
century by one of the early French settlers.
It was later offered as a gift to Prince
Khammao who used it as a meeting hall for
the officials of Luang Prabang.
This
building, along with another traditional
wooden house on the site is now being
carefully restored by local craftsmen
employing traditional building techniques
and materials.
